Perfmon2, Papi and Kernel Patches

Hello,

If the ubuntu community has already simplified installing  Papi ( which
require Performance Monitoring
library and some kernel patches), then please let me know. Since PAPI is
such as well known software, I am
pretty sure, that someone must have already installed it on Intel 64 bit
Core-2 machine.
