gnome application launcher -- keeps running in background

I tried this same exact command in a launcher, but in KDE this time, to
be started in a terminal. wget stops if I close that terminal window,
unlike in case of Gnome and gnome terminal.

Looks like it is gnome-terminal that is doing something wrong or at
least different.

In KDE's case, Konsole starts up as the terminal and closing that
terminal sends SIGHUP signal to wget.
