After some search, a CD Alternate 7.10 emerged from my
archives and I did an install on the same machine where SAK
is producing a kernel panic under Ubuntu 8.10.

SAK is available under 7.10 as <alt><printscreen><k>. It
works normally in a text console (all processes killed,
logout). It is totally innocuous in Console_7, Gnome Desktop.

So it is a 8.10 bug. But is it tied to my hardware or does
it happen elsewhere?

Still waiting for courageous men to run a test.
