I just updated my laptop (Thinkpad T21) from hardy to intrepid. The
laptop had on it (hardy):
Ubuntu
KDE 4.1 (ppa repositories)
Xubuntu
I now find that when I boot into Ubuntu (Gnome), both the standard
Network Manager _and_ KnetworkManager appear in the top Gnome panel.
Both are fully functional. Odd as this never occured in hardy. Anyone
else experience simlar?
Note: I do see that KNetworkManger has been added to the 'Additional
startup programs' under System|Preferences|Sessions. I can/will of
course turn it off, but seems as if it should never have been added.
Also I found that the desktop background after the first reboot into
intrepid had the Xubuntu desktop background; all of this leads me to
believe that somehow the desktop configuration files became screwed up
as a result of the update.
