I recommend that you turn your newsreader (Thunderbird) to
mozilla.dev.apps.firefox (news://news.mozilla.org/mozilla.dev.apps.firefox)

You can access via a list if you prefer:
https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/dev-apps-firefox
but I think you'll find the nntp easier.
