Intrepid screen resolution messed up

I tried xfix and I'm still having the same problem. I'm not sure what you mean by  /usr/share/doc/xserver-xorg-video-intel/README.gz, what am I supposed to do with that? I put it in the terminal and it said bash: /usr/share/doc/xserver-xorg-video-intel/README.gz: Permission denied
