32 bit will run a 64 bit computer. If the tags on the box has dual or quad core, amd 64 X2 or similar, it's a 64 bit cpu.
There seems to be a bit of an issue with this card on earlier Ubuntu versions but I don't know about Intrepid. Look for this file on intrepit and see if it gives you some xorg.conf setup info for the intel950.
/usr/share/doc/xserver-xorg-video-intel/README.gz

I don't use intrepid yet but this was on my Hardy version and you should find something in Intrepid. It gives info on what to put in xorg.conf. Also see:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=com.ubuntu:en-US:unofficial&hs=8BE&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=Intel+Graphics+Media+Accelerator+950%2Bintrepid%2Bvideo%2Bdriver&spell=1

It mentions downloading the driver from the intel site but I didn't check it out. There are 11 pages in the link and the further you go the more it talks about Intrepid.

If this doesn't get you started on a solution, you need more expert help than I can give; so someone else chime in. I've personally never have used an intel video card. HTH and good luck.
