I haven't seen David's response to your ifconfig post; maybe I missed it. However, I think your MTU of 64 is incorrect for a broadband connection. Mine is 1500(I think even 1492 is ok) on an ATT DSL Pro ISP. You can change the MTU with ifconfig but you would need to read the man to see how. Or, better still, wait for Davis's reply or anyone with better knowledge of networking and broadband than me.
