/home/<user>/.gvfs causing problems for rsync

It does not make a difference, but I think I made some progress:  I
get the error message when I run rsync using 'sudo' - not when I run
it as the owner of .gvfs.

My original problem occurs when I backup the whole computer and I have
to run the rsync process as root.
