Well I have about one option open on the Intrepid on my lap-top. I
was trying to get totem and vlc to show movie DVD's and in doing that I
lost the sound. It is a problem with a piece of software not known to
me. But something is broken within the system. The method used did not
end up as expected and that might be the problem...
It looks like I need to re-load and re-do everything. Get all the
updates again. I don't like it but nothing else will fix the sound.
