Font preview app that doesn't suck?

Hi list,

Here's the scenario - I'm hunting a font.  I've found a web page that
may or may not have my quarry.  What I'd like to do is click each link
and preview the font.  Kfontview and gnome-font-viewer seem likely
candidates, and for light use they aren't that bad.  BUT I need to
preview this word: มวยไทย!  Neither kfontview not gnome-font-viewer
allow one to change the sample text!  UGH.

Is there another viewer out there that is configurable?
