Enabling Wireless

Hello

I just bought a Thinkpad T61 (partly on the premise that I garnered that it worked out of the box with Ubuntu) but to my horror it does not work with wireless!

I cannot see any wireless connection with Network Manager and I've been reading some things on the web. Apparently I need to use Ndiswrapper but I don't know how to. Could anyone guide me?
