Sudo is much better for auditing purposes. Keep sudo. Even if you set
your user as part of a group that doesn't get prompted for password when
running sudo, at least you know which commands you ran as sudo and as
you... This is even more critical with multiple possible administrators.
And if you're going to run a series of commands as root, you can always
sudo bash for a few moments...
