You'll have to check around for options. We have a youth center that
takes in old computer equipment. If it is still good, it is used to
train future technicians and may be donated to children whose families
can't afford to buy one. If it can't be repaired, it may be disassembled
and the parts used for a clock or sculpture. It's amazing what can be
done with a couple of heat sinks and a platter out of a dead hard drive.
If they can't find anything else, it goes to the county scrap facility
where it will get recycled along with the rest of the scrap metals.
