That's untrue. From RedHat themselves:

They will still be working on 3 desktop products: Enterprise Desktop,
Fedora, and their new Global Desktop.
Really, I'm not sure what is changing and I don't know what you mean
by them being "not free." If anything, Red Hat has been a good
citizen in the open source community and deserve praise for that.
