problem with grub

Hi,try re-installing the grub using the ubuntu GUI installer cd...error 17
means the x,y co-ordinates have been lost....

sorry for my english - I'm from germany...
I have some problems with the grub bootloader.

My system:
Sata1 (sda) = WinXP
Sata2 (sdb) = Ubuntu

After installing ubuntu on sdb (sata 2) and rebboting the pc (bios boot
order: sda), I get the following message
State 1.5.
Grub loading...  Please wait...
Error 17
