No Splash screen - Gutsy

My Splash screen is now working. Soon after I finished updating my system and reboot, it showed up.

But I still don't have any difference. I am using HP Pavilion zv5000 laptop.

Does the resolution that is set in /etc/usplash.conf correspond to your
monitor? To change it, run in a terminal window:
sudo gedit /etc/usplash.conf
