Why did you do this? This is probably the cause of the error. Try removing the 
package(s) you installed, and installing it in a supported way (Add/Remove 
Applications, synaptic, apt-get, aptitude, etc).

This should be as easy as 

sudo aptitude install stardict

as long as you have he Universe repository enabled.
