cant log in at all

sudo apt-get purge ttf-opensymbol

error were encountered while processing: ttf-opensymbol

E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)


sudo apt-get install ttf-opensymbol

error were encountered while processing: ttf-opensymbol

E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)


sudo apt-get reinstall openoffice-common

Invalid operation reinstall


sudo apt-get purge openoffice-common

couldnt find package openoffice-common

and no matter wat all steps i try the main error that is being returned is

error were encountered while processing: ttf-opensymbol

E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)


so i didnt do the upgrade and update steps or should i do them irrespective
of the other commands being unsuccessful ?
