Well, you could cache the contents with the WWWOFFLE proxy. I think the 
version in the Ubuntu repository doesn't have this possibility compiled 
in, therefore you will have to compile it yourself with the configure 
option "--with-gnutls". Caching the contents means decrypting the 
communication by the proxy which is something like a "man in the middle 
attack". Therefore your browser will always warn you about the wrong 
certificate. And don't use this for anything like online banking where it 
is important that the communication really is encrypted between browser 
and server.
