    You have eight problems you introduced. Most of them are because 
your still using Gutsy. I liked Gutsy but the Ubuntu way is that once 
Hardy was running they stop supporting gutsy.

    I can not imagine why Hardy has a problem on your laptop. Have you 
looked at all the error logs in /var/log/? There may be a hardware 
reason for your Hardy problem but it must be age of your laptop. I just 
put Hardy on my Sony laptop and it is just fine.
