flash drives and noatime mount option

I have noticed that Ubuntu 8.04 is not mounting my MuVo v100 with the noatime 
option by default. Is this a problem, or is noatime no longer needed for 
mounting flash drives? If it is still needed, where do I need to add this option 
and do I need to try to set it for each flash disk that I have?
