Lets face Ubuntu 8.04

I have had some problems with 8.04 as well. Whenever I've installed a new
Ubuntu version on my computer, I've put it in as a new partition, and saved
the old one for a few months. I mostly do this to make moving files easy,
among other reasons.

One of the other reasons that I install new versions of Ubuntu as new
partitions rather than just upgrading is that I occasionally have some
problems with the new version that I didn't have with the old version.

I also did this on my other computer that has Windows on it. I put Vista on
it, and I've only used XP since then. However, I almost always use my Ubuntu
machine instead of my XP machine; I rarely ever have problems running
Windows programs in Ubuntu under Wine.

In closing, do what I do, and keep the older version of Ubuntu on the
machine until the new version gets all of its kinks worked out.

And it might take a while for the kinks in 8.04 to be fixed. (But not nearly
as long as it'll take those clowns in Redmond to fix the kinks in Vista.)
