not sure what manpage you read there, my rsync manpage clearly doesnt
state anything about ext2 or ext3 filesystems and since rsync operates
totally indepentently from the filesystem level it would be a great
surprise if any filesystem underlying the data you sync would have any
effect on that that would be similar to saying http only works on UDF
filesystems ;) its a network transfer protocol and has nothing to do
with filesystems at all.
