Hi,

I've got that issue as well. I'm alone, but occasionally I have guests
who have to look something up on the internet or some such. In my
experience, when I leave them alone, and they're done, they will shut
down the computer if they see a way to in the GUI. However, when there's
no gui option, they'll remember I told them to leave the PC on before
resorting to the power plug.

I've looked around, even in the text config files for GDM, but I haven't
found a way to disable that button.

So I, also, would like a way to:

1) Remove the shutdown options from the login screen
2) Remove the shutdown options for all but a limited set of users
3) Modify the shutdown button to require entering your password before
actually shutting down.

If I've ever got the time, I'll probably go look in the source what's
possible.
