I don't know, a colleague of mine with a year old Vista laptop claims my 
Kubuntu laptop consistently outperforms his in DVD playing so badly that he 
just ordered a new laptop with Ubuntu on it!  I use LinDVD on mine, I have no 
idea what Vista uses as I have no interest at all in that OS.  Of course I 
think the last straw for him was when his laptop couldn't make his Vista 
certified HP printer work and mine did!  Too bad he is getting a new laptop 
or I might have had a new printer!
