I am not a system crack nor freak nor techie and
as a Linux greenhorn / newbie unable to get to deep into some
things !! ;-)

My notebook ran very hot and sometimes shutting down due heat !
So I called IBM / Lenovo SE to check my unit and got the fan and its
exhaaust system replaced !!
After that I did some try with ACPI to get the system's temp displayed
better !!!
Unfortunately there was only one error message displayed at system boot:

"system sensor settings / failure"

I un-installed everything to do with ACPI.
No retries just now !

Hehe, this RE-installation has absolutely NOTHING to do with these
problems !!! ;-D
I am running on my very first Linux / Ubuntu 7.10 setup since October
2007 and
have learnt a lot in the meantime:

So with 8.04 LTS I am going to INSTALL ... not RE-install it how I want
it with my
better experience now !! ;-)

Discover and palying around with a PROD system too isn't my way !

Of course I can read the article mentioned before ...
... much more priority is given to backing up my personal data before
installing 8.04 LTS soon !

If 8.04 LTS works as wanted / wished I am going to migrate my stuff from
past with OS/2 !!

The faster the migration, the better !!! ;-D

Once more: Thanks and cheers, svobi
