welcome. The files you copy by default come with the same access permissions. 
In the case of CDs or DVDs this means read-only access. You can change it by 
clicking with the right button, selecting properties and the tab permissions 
you change the first set of permissions (owner) to Read and Write.

You can also do this to directories, and whole subdirs and files contained in 
directories.
