Removing Vista in Favour of Ubuntu

You can remove Vista while installing ubuntu.
Choose the option 'Use the entire disk' while installing ubuntu or do a
manual partitioning removing all precious windows drives and formatting
them into EXT3 file format.
If you wish to save some of your windows data [not the Vista OS, but
some files in the NTFS partitions] then gather all the necessary data on
a partition. Then while installing ubuntu, delete all the drives in your
windows partitions except the drive in which you stored your data. Then
repartition your HDD as you wish.
Don't forget to create the first partition as PRIMARY and all other
partitions as SECONDARY. Otherwise your system will not boot.
