Hibernate on Dell 1420

I just installed 64 bit gutsy on my Dell 1420 laptop.  Everything works 
great without change except the hibernation.  It seems like I always have 
problems with hibernation under Linux.  It just never works out of the 
box.  

Has anybody gotten 64 bit gutsy to hibernate correctly on a Dell 1420 
laptop?
