8.04 randomly locks up

Shouldn't make too much of a difference, DVD and CD are the same, but
with extra packages.

That's probably when you first notice it's frozen :P

When you hit the power button, does it shut down properly, or do you
have to hold it >4sec?


Also, what exactly is your hardware?

CPU (for arch)

Graphics (ATi/nVidia)

Amount of memory

Some people have mentioned wireless; have you got it? Do you know the
chipset of your card ($ ifconfig)?

Also, do you have an ASUS motherboard with PS/2 keyboard and mouse?
