Fwd: problems with VLC and Totem playing image on external monitor

Hi,
Great that it works :-)

xrandr --output LVDS --auto should turn your internal monitor on again. 
So you need not to restart your computer.
(type "man xrandr" to see all the options and explanations for it)

a gui for xrandr is for example grandr.

"sudo apt-get install grandr" to install it, or use the graphical 
package manager.
