My laptop does that for me. Whenever people see Compiz they want it.
Really, that has been the catch for about half of the converts I know.

It certainly is possible. Pedestrian malls come to mind. You want to
catch people when they are willing to try something new, with the
impression that they are trying an unreleased product. Maybe while
they are standing in line for a movie? Have a 'placeholder' stand in
line while the subject test drives Ubuntu for a few minutes.

The problems with those locations is that the people at work and at
universities are stressed and in a hurry, with no time to enjoy trying
something new.

My current goals are:
1) To see what people really are doing with their computers
2) Identify the highlights of current Ubuntu / Linux technology
and then to combine them into:
*) This is what you _could_ be doing with your computer, if you only want to.
Of course, the side effects are:
1) Ubuntu / Linux exposure
2) We could identify where Ubuntu is lacking, in real world situations
with users willingly using Ubuntu and asking "how do I do X", "how do
I do Y".

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
