Hi Michael:
If this is not relevant please just chalk it up to my being brand new both 
to Linux and 8.04.
Like I say maybe the wubi installer is only being used for initial install 
and not upgrade.
But my experience was just great. My only decision was a password and the 
installer did
the rest from a unpartitioned HD.
