apt-get upgrade for sudo fails with segmentation fault

Hi Chris:

I have the same problem and for it I had to reinstall twice my ubuntu
portable. I think that is something portable related, because on 
http://www.pendrivelinux.com/2008/05/08/usb-ubuntu-804-persistent-install-tutorial/
this link  mention that at final, so, I cannot apply system related updates
as is this case. So I think that the solution isn´t trivial at least for me
a beginner, I think that is necessary to rebuild the casper-rw and maybe the
initgz in some way in order to synchronize something with the updated.
Unfortunately I don´t have a real solution but if you or someone else have a
decent workaround, please help us.
