Check Forced...what am I not doing?

You did nothing wrong. It's standard regular maintainance. After X numbers of 
boot sequences or Y days of not being checked (whichever comes first), the 
system will run a fsck on all disks that are marked for regular check ups 
in /etc/fstab. More info can also be found using 'man fstab'.
