I took care of this by typing (in a terminal -
Applications->Accessories->Terminal):
sudo apt-get install xserver-xgl

Or you can open Synaptic (System->Administration->Synaptic Package
Manager), and search for "xserver-xgl", click on the resulting
package, select "mark for installation", then click the 'Apply
Button'.  A summary will pop up - click 'Install'.

You will then have to log out and log back in after installing xserver-xgl.
