Ubuntu, Wireless, and my laptop

When turning on your computer there is a bios screen that appears
before the OS loads.  Press what ever key it takes to get into the
setup of the bios.  Turn on your wireless card there first.  Then try
to install the wireless card drivers.

I don't have an eMachine but I would guess that would work.  On the
new Dell laptops there is a physical switch that turns on and off the
wifi cards.  Dell has moved away from the F2 key like they used to on
their older Latitude D600 and D610.  Which I have Ubuntu installed on
and the wireless is working on.
