booting Ubuntu 7.04 liveCD on a Thinkpad T61

Hi,

When I try to boot from the CD, everything seems fine, but I don't get
a graphical desktop. Instead, shortly after the splash screen, I get
a black screen that says...
----------------------

BusyBox v1.1.3 (Debian 1:1.1.3-3ubuntu3) Built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off
(initramfs) [blinking cursor prompt]

-----------------------
Is there some sort of boot option that I should pass to the CD to make
this work?

Note: I am not trying to install ubuntu on this computer. All I want
to do is use the liveCD (the partition editor GParted, to be exact).
And the reason I am using this CD is because I do not want to burn
another one.

Thanks for your help,

Jimmy
