Few questions before moving from Windows to Linux Ubuntu

On the vmware website there are even virtual machines available for free
download, which come preinstalled with Ubuntu. This way, the original
poster can simply start Ubuntu within Windows. This is probably one of
the easiest ways for the OP to play with Ubuntu without hassle. (However
this will not help with testing hardware compatibility)
