Does ubuntu support 15bit color or not?

Hi,

Does Ubuntu support 15bit color or not? 
I've asked in this mailing list and also in the forum on support for 15bit color but I haven't gotten anywhere.
I guess everyone's got nice new machines. 

All I got is that I've two options. 
Buy this nice card http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3301409&CatId=1603
or,
Wipe the disk and install Puppy Linux which does the 15bit thing.

Problem with buying option is I don't live in the US. I'll have to call TigerDirect sales people and order it, pay the extra duty tax and processing fees etc. It just doesn't seem like an easy go to the website, put in credit card # and checkout. 

Anyhow, I'd appreciate it if someone can answer my question.
