Getting Skype webcam working SOLVED

    I got hold of a friend with Skype and he was able to see my video! 
But after about a minute the picture would go blank. I could click on 
the blue button and turn off my camera and then turn it on again. It was 
good for about a minute.

    Another user thought his video didn't work because of permissions on 
/dev/video0 and I checked mine. It is

karl at karl-desktop:~$ ls -al /dev/video0
crw-rw---- 1 root video 81, 0 2008-02-10 10:32 /dev/video0
karl at karl-desktop:~$

    Since I can't use the thing as root it must be because of the Group 
video. But I looked and there is no group video. What am I wrong about this?
