Hello out there,
since two weeks I tried to bring up hardy heron on my old ThinkPad -
i-series 1200 -1161-92G.
Everything runs good, except the low resolution (max. <800x600>.
I wrote a lot of messages to this maillist, but I didn't got any good
answer.
The solution for all ThinkPad-Users is:
Install an old version of ubuntu, e.g. 7.04, save the xorg.conf to usb-stick
and reinstall
hardy heron. After the system is up again, copy the 7.04-xorg.conf to
/etc/X11/ - replacing
the existing file. Everything will become good.
Attached to this message you will find the running xorg.conf for the upper
described model.
The question that hardy heron doesn't feature older xorg.conf's will be
answered by all the
members of ubuntu-community, they think like <my best friend
bill>!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi members, this is ubuntu - not windows!
Thousand thanks to all of you, who tried to help me. We are the future of
computing!
Forget 2008, let us looking forward to 2009.
Happy new year to you all and greetings
