I got around to installing Intrepid 8.10 on that i845 machine on a
second hard drive... what an absolute mess that is; Compiz effects no
longer work, the default xorg.conf thinks that the MegaImage is a Jen
14" monitor, and it took 4 trys to get everything to appear on the
screen in proper resolution. The good news is that the fonts apear to be
clear.

I'll mess around with it over the next few days & let you know how it
comes out.
