I do, looks like line wraping is not working correctly.

Yes, and that's what ATT says to use for static IPs also.
With static setup get; ping: unknown host gateway.2wire.net
and PING 192.168.1.254 (192.168.1.254) 56(84) bytes of data.

--- 192.168.1.254 ping statistics ---
3 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 1999ms

not good.

Gary, It's static setup. this is what's ticked on the url above.
192.168.1.0 / 255.255.255.0 (default)

This is what the url had, but it's not me. I need to log in somewhere.

No, if I understand you. The Linksys wmp54g computer is in
another room and is totally wireless. It's IP is 192.168.1.2.
Both have been that since the day you helped me setup static IPs
BTW, http://192.168.1.254 does not connect anymore to 2wire.net's
system setup page where I can log on and check/change my settings.
ATT couldn't help me make that connection. The error message is:

Unable to connect.
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 192.168.1.254.

This has been going on for several days. I would have reset and renewed lease and checked setting there if I could connect. In the past, after and upgrade or new install, have found settings not as should be. Thanks for jumping in. BTW, ATT says I'm not connected to the network on the wifi and that's why I can't establish a connection at http://192.168.1.254. Doesn't seem likely to me but that's what they say. How does one determine if they are connected to another wifi network besides there own? Anything else just ask and thanks so much for the help.
