I'm not familiar with the message and as said I'm no expert. But the same questions goes to you also. Does fdisk -l show any NTFS file systems. If so, you may still have a windows partition that could be saves. You might try sudo update-grub to see if it's picked up again. New users and people not experienced with partitioning software and the ubuntu CD need to pay attention to what the install process is telling and asking them or you can easily repartition the whole HDD. You wont know for sure what's on your HDD re partitions unless you look using fdisk or some other like gparted. If you want help on this, it's the first thing to post with your question. HTH.
