Is there Autorun on Ubuntu?

Hello,

I was just reading the following article on ZDNet -

Now it has me wondering if Ubuntu ever autostarts programs on removable 
media sources?

I've only been using Ubuntu since August, and I don't have any CDs for 
Ubuntu or Linux other than the Ubuntu 8.04 Live CD, so I have no way to 
find out if anything autostarts when I put in a CD.
