I was the one who asked to be told if ANYONE has a nVidia based
computer that is working right. There were many who wrote saying there
system was fine. This lead my logical thinking to my problem being a
broken device in the nVidia hardware. This was possible but it seemed
that the crash happened in the afternoon and evening, never in the morning.

You told me about blown caps and then finally a suggestion that I
check voltages and temps. The voltages are right on. The CPU is cool and
I know that because the case has the electronics and a thermopile on a
wire that is stuck into the CPU heat sink slot.

And at last I removed the covers on the case and the crashes have
stopped on both 7.10 and Hardy Ubuntu systems. I think this is the
NORMAL performance with nVidia video and I am sure pleased with it now.

Thank you all for your help.

Karl
