First I will address the "sand box" issue :) The computer I am writing from
now is the Win/Ubuntu dual boot machine which is in my house. I have to shut
down and reboot when ever I want to change OS This is highly inconvenient,
so I have a second machine which is out in my workroom next door. It is a
dedicated Ubuntu machine. It is running now. It will be online in the next
few days. I keep it on all day so if I want to try some Ubuntu thing I just
go to that machine. I guess a better term than "sand box" is "dedicated". I
have virtually no experience with "Command line" so the "dedicated" machine
will let me work my way through that and other things. I find that I will be
Windows dependent for some time, for things like online banking and
specialty programs.

I am going to start a new thread "Thunderbird Getting Started". I will
address that as soon as I finish this post.
