I agree. Especially for short interactions, I prefer top posting,
because
1) most clients are threads-aware
(and most archives are, too)
2) the context of the response is usually anticipated from the previous
thread
Bottom posting forces everyone to read each message twice, and more if
cutting isn't performed.
Top posting is like a reply which sites it's context in a footnote,
rather than putting the supporting information before the pertinent
information.
